Work with us: Invitation for expressions of interest and indicative pricing for the supply, erection and fit out of a living laboratory research facility house.
The Institute invites expressions of interest and indicative pricing for the supply, erection and fit out of a living laboratory research facility house.
The Institute for Sustainability is a partner in the Interreg IVB funded SusLabNWE project which aims to set up in North-West Europe a networked infrastructure of houses and ‘living laboratories' for studying technology-user interaction in real-life home environments. The Institute will coordinate the construction of one of these living laboratories in East London, withn the intention to create one family house on the London Sustainable Industries Park in Dagenham. This will provide a facility for the testing of the human interface for new technologies in the field of measurement, monitoring and management of energy and water consumption.
The initial focus is the interface between residents and energy and water monitors and control systems. Following detailed trials in the house there is the opportunity to evaluate the performance of products in hundreds of houses accross London, as part of other projects in which the Institute is a partner including Low Carbon London.
