Institute team grows to support bid success

The Institute, working with Acre Resources, has been recruiting for several newly-created permanent posts to support a range of high profile projects and to lead corporate functions.

“We have been very successful in securing a number of large and exciting demonstration projects over the past six months and therefore need to grow our team to support delivery,” explains Ian Short, CEO of the Institute.

“We are close to filling a number of permanent positions and are now concentrating on creating an associate panel of sustainability experts.  We are offering a range of unique opportunities for individuals who want to work on challenging and rewarding projects at the cutting edge of sustainability.”

Associates will work alongside the Institute’s permanent staff to provide specialised technical knowledge and expertise. The Institute partners with leading academics, businesses and public bodies to deliver a diverse range of projects and is particularly interested in individuals with experience in the following fields:

  • Sustainable infrastructure including micro generation, energy from waste, electric vehicles and hydrogen infrastructure, smart grids, ICT sensors and instrumentations, and technologies for assisted living
  • Resource efficiency including low carbon building technologies and materials, building performance evaluation, industrial symbiosis and closed loop systems, maximising value from waste streams and regulatory mechanisms
  • Sustainable transport and logistics including freight telematics, multi-modal transport solutions, last mile logistics, renewable and sustainable river transport
  • Sustainable behaviours and community engagement including engagement with residents, local businesses and large multi-occupancy buildings, community ownership and value creation models, and behaviour change.

Associates will be integral to the Institute’s work and will identify and develop opportunities for additional projects.
