"Welcome to the
Institute for Sustainability's
latest e-newsletter"
Peter Head
Chair of the Institute
for Sustainability Board of Trustees
September this year saw the anniversary of our first year of operation. During this year, we have made significant progress in establishing the Institute and initiating an impressive programme of activity. We held our inaugural Annual General Meeting in London last month for our Members and Trustees. For further information on this meeting and to view an interactive version of our Annual Report for 2009/2010, please click here.
Over the last 12 months we have seen an increasingly challenging financial and organisational landscape that has had an impact on a number of our partners and projects. However, this challenge has also meant that a large number of new opportunities have come forward and we are working with partners to deliver on these.
The transport and logistics sector plays a key role in the delivery of sustainable cities, and our involvement in a number of recent developments highlights the value and opportunities opening up in this area. Of particular note is that we are now leading on two INTERREG IV projects, i-Transfer and Lo-pinod, which have a total value of €12.5 million. The project launch events will be held on 8 and 9 December in London, which will bring together the European partners involved on the projects. To find out more, please click here.
You can also read an update on the new Carbon London project and further details on the first phase of the Green roof project in this newsletter.

I would like to thank you for your support during 2010, and look forward to what is looking like an already busy 2011 calendar for the Institute.
