Institute highlights achievements at Annual General Meeting
The Institute held its first Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 16 November 2010 at University College London.
Bringing together Members and Trustees, the AGM provided a platform to highlight the key achievements and progress since the Institute was established in March 2009, and particularly since it became operational in September 2009.
In his welcoming address, the Institute's Chair, Peter Head observed that the Institute was established on the understanding that current development is unsustainable and that business as usual is not enough to deliver resource efficient and sustainable future.
London and the Greater South East is in a unique position to demonstrate sustainability leadership and accelerate progress towards low carbon living but cross-sector collaboration and delivery is crucial. The AGM gave an opportunity for the Institute to showcase a number of partnership projects already underway and plans for the year ahead. This included an update on the Institute's four programme areas:
- Total community retrofit
- Resource efficient buildings
- Sustainable infrastructure
- Transport and logistics
To coincide with the AGM the Institute has published its first Annual Report and Accounts for the period to 31 March 2010.
